How to translate the cards in my language?
You do not find the game in your language among those already available on your facilitator space? You can translate it yourself! This page details the process to follow.
Volunteer by filling up our form
You can volunteer to translate any of Climate Fresk tools by completing this form.
We will then send you an invite to join our software Tolgee, which centralises all translations (cards, communication material, etc.) and facilitates collaboration between translators and with the permanent team in charge.
This step can take up to a week, as it is done individually & manually: we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
Create a Tolgee account and start translating!
Once you’ve received an email from Tolgee inviting to join one of Climate Fresk’s project on the platform, you can create your account. Here is a tutorial explaining how to do so and guiding you through your first steps on Tolgee!
You can then start translating directly into Tolgee.
Team up to perfect the translation!
If you know other people that are willing to help you create and improve the translation, you can share the application form with them or contact us on their behalf through the same form.
We recommend having at least one person translating and another person reviewing: proofreading with fresh eyes helps identifying even the smallest mistakes! The reviewer can validate each line individually or as a whole group, as explained in the Tolgee tutorial.
Once checked, the lines turn green! This indicator allows us to monitor the status of the translation.
Ask for the creation of the PDF file
Once you are done translating and proofreading, or if you want to have a look at the cards layout to ensure the adequacy of your wording, you can contact us through this form to request a test PDF file based on Tolgee translations.
You can then make last changes to polish up your work.
Once we have your final validation, we will put the cards online so every facilitator can access them.
